Welcome to MLC's Girls' Midget Program

All of our Midget teams participate in the league sponsored by the Maryland Youth Lacrosse Association (MYLA).  Teams are put together based upon evaluations.  The intent of the evaluations is to properly place each player by skill level to give her the best opportunity to develop individual lacrosse skills, team concepts, and to have fun.
Girls may be selected for an "A", "B", or "C" team based on numbers of girls and individual skill level.

Expectations for the "A" team players:

*Strong player/parent commitment.
*Players should be in their best physical shape.
*Players must have above average stick skills especially on the move (including accuracy with respect to catching and throwing (dominate and non-dominate), and proficiency in cradling with both left and right hands.
*Players must have positive attitude and enthusiasm and be coachable.

Expectations for the "B" team players:

*Strong player/parent commitment.
*Players should be in good physical shape.
*Players must have average stick skills (with the ability to catch and throw accurately with their strong hand on the move and with the ability to cradle and throw with their non-dominate hand).
*Players must have positive attitude and enthusiasm and be coachable.

Expectations for the "C" team players:

*Strong player/parent commitment.
*Players must have average stick skills (with the ability to catch and throw accurately with their strong hand on the move).
*Players must have positive attitude and enthusiasm and be coachable.

The Midget's practice twice a week and have a game on the weekend.  Participation in a post-season tournament is required.
